Convenient Access from Granville
For people who live or work on the far northwest side of the City of Milwaukee, Successful Smiles is a dentist near Granville that you can reach without getting on a freeway. Our office on N Port Washington Rd in Mequon is about 19 minutes away by surface streets. Three general dentists offer checkups, crowns, gum care and bite treatment in one building.
Begin on W Fairlane Ave near N 80th St, in the residential blocks between W Good Hope Rd and W Brown Deer Rd. Take N 80th St and W Tower Ave over to N 76th St (WI-181), then head north. Past County Line Rd, the highway continues north as Wauwatosa Rd.
At W Mequon Rd (WI-167), turn right and drive east about four miles, then turn left onto N Port Washington Rd to reach 11345 N Port Washington Rd, Mequon, WI 53092. The trip is 9 miles and about 19 minutes, and our location on Google Maps can guide you. Many patients also come from neighboring Brown Deer and River Hills.
The Old Town of Granville and Its Business District
Granville began as a town in 1840, created from the western part of the Town of Milwaukee and settled largely by Pennsylvania Dutch (German) families. The old town stretched from County Line Rd south to Hampton Ave, and from 124th St east to 27th St. In 1955 its northeastern part incorporated as the Village of Brown Deer, and in 1956 the remaining land was consolidated with the City of Milwaukee, a move the Wisconsin Supreme Court later confirmed.
Traces of the farm town remain. Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church was dedicated in 1849 as the German Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed Church of Granville Township. The East and West Granville cemeteries hold generations of early families.
Today the area is known as much for work as for history. The Granville Business Improvement District, BID 48, covers the commercial and industrial corridor along W Brown Deer Rd and W Good Hope Rd between 60th and 95th streets. Hundreds of businesses operate there, from manufacturers and merchants to car dealerships, beside residential neighborhoods.
That mix shapes what people need from a dental office. Many residents and employees in this part of Milwaukee County keep fixed shift times and want straight answers about cost. Others have put off dental care for a while and are not sure where to begin.
Timing helps too. Appointments start at 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, so a cleaning can come before a first shift, and Monday through Thursday hours run until 5:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday the office is closed. Because the route north follows ordinary city streets and county highways, Granville drivers can skip the I-43 rush entirely.
Getting Back on Track With Your Dental Health
If it has been years since your last cleaning, you are not alone, and nobody here will lecture you. A first visit starts with a thorough exam, low-radiation digital x-rays and an honest look at what needs attention now and what can wait. We explain each finding in simple, everyday terms before making any recommendation.
Cost is often the first question. New patients without insurance can start with our $99 cleaning, exam and x-ray offer, available to new patients without insurance in the absence of periodontal disease. After that, the in-house Dental Savings Plan covers routine care for one yearly rate and gives members 20% off other treatments, teeth whitening excluded.
Broken or heavily filled teeth are common after a long gap. With CEREC, many of them can be rebuilt with a ceramic crown that is designed, milled and placed in a single appointment, so you need only one trip. The same-day crowns page walks through the process.
Physical jobs and stress can also wear teeth down. Clenching and grinding often show up as flat or chipped edges, sore jaw muscles or headaches in the morning. Our Dawson-based bite care looks at how the teeth, jaw joints and muscles work together, and a custom nightguard or splint can protect your teeth while you sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Successful Smiles from Granville, and how do I get there?
From W Fairlane Ave near N 80th St, the office is 9 miles away, about 19 minutes. Go north on N 76th St (WI-181), which becomes Wauwatosa Rd, turn east on W Mequon Rd, then left on N Port Washington Rd. Anyone wanting a dentist near Granville without freeway driving will find this route simple.
What does a first visit cost without insurance?
New patients without insurance can book our $99 cleaning, exam and x-ray visit, which applies in the absence of periodontal disease. If the exam shows gum disease, we explain the treatment and its fees before anything begins. Afterward, the in-house Dental Savings Plan can keep routine care affordable year after year.
I haven't seen a dentist in years. Where do I start?
Start with a single exam visit. We take x-rays, check your teeth and gums, and explain what needs attention first and what can wait. There is no judgment about the time away. Treatment is then planned in stages that make sense for your health, your schedule and your budget.
How do you treat teeth grinding?
We begin by finding out why it happens. Our Dawson-based approach examines the bite, jaw joints and muscles together. Treatment may include a custom nightguard or splint made from a digital scan, adjustments to the bite through equilibration, and repair of teeth that have already worn or chipped from grinding.
Do you take Humana or Aetna dental plans?
We are in-network with many plans from Humana and Aetna, as well as all Delta Dental plans. Coverage can vary between plans, so please verify your specific plan with our team before the visit. We confirm benefits ahead of time, explain what is covered and submit claims on your behalf.
