Dental Implants
If you're tired of the limitations and discomfort of missing teeth, dental implants can help provide a permanent solution that boosts your confidence while looking and functioning like natural teeth.
Dental Implants in Thiensville, WI
Dental implants are special posts made of titanium alloy or ceramic material that function as an artificial root for a crown. At Successful Smiles, we use implants to support the replacement of a single tooth, multiple teeth, or dentures, depending on the individual’s requirements and condition. Dental implants stabilize bone levels and can prevent bone loss, resulting in better long-term support, function, and esthetics.

The Dental Implant Process at Successful Smiles
Dental implants involve a multiple-step process to complete the entire procedure. Each patient’s process will vary, depending on your oral health.
- Consultation and dental exam. We’ll start with an exam to determine if dental implants are good for you and explore all available treatment options.
- Tooth Extraction: To prepare for the implant(s), we may need to extract the tooth/teeth and perform a dental bone graft if there is bone loss around the implant site.
- Implant placement. The implant will be placed in the bone and then a healing cap is placed over the implant to start the healing process.
- Implant Healing. A process called osseointegration occurs during the healing phase, where the jawbone heals around the implant and fuses with it. This provides a stable foundation for the new artificial tooth adn typically takes 4 to 6 months to complete.
- Abutment/crown placement. The abutment is a small, titanium piece used to connect your artificial tooth (crown) to the implant. The abutment is attached to the implant, and the crown is placed on it.
